[Carnival games and dancing are very much not Isa's 'thing'. While that doesn't mean it's impossible for him to be dragged into such shenanigans, it also means that the third option - the wide array of food and drink on offer - is vastly more appealing, to say the least.
It's not terribly strange, given the theme of the festival, that almost everything is octopus-related, but the dedication to the theme is what is pretty amazing, considering not only is all the food following the theme, but so are the vendors themselves. It's a bit unnerving, giving the appearance of something like cannibalism twice removed, but if it's normal enough that the locals are fine with it, and normal enough that the apparent newcomers are kind of okay with it, then he can at least grab something to snack on while investigating the rest of the festival, right?
One problem. Everything's meant to share, and while he did manage to convince the takoyaki vendor to split that serving into two dishes, that also left him without a free hand. Enter you: similarly Alone person, also in line for the stand, who he will offer the other half of the serving to.]
Do you want this?

[Having a heart back is inconvenient. Having a heart prone to curiosity even more so. So when there is a generalized call for help of all kinds - both in aiding defenseless persons and in collecting samples of the plants for the sake of science - Isa finds himself being drawn into the thick of it before he can really second guess his decisions, old Organization uniform back on and claymore in hand.
He wouldn't call it altruism that has him sticking generally close to where people have gathered, cutting chasing vines and brusquely pulling people from under debris, but at the same time, even he can recognize that he's being a bit more socially minded than he might have in the past. Going off alone, right now, just feels even more ill-advised, especially after the first of many times a cut vine flails wildly and splatters him in its sap from head to toe.
Right then. No sense in trying to stay clean after that, right?
...Right?
Was that enough of an annoyance to make keeping any kind of rational focus too inconvenient to consider? Possibly. Is he going to regret shifting his focus from fighting defensively to an all out assault on the encroaching vines? Absolutely. For now, though, he actually does do a pretty good job of clearing and keeping clear a side street and small, quaint little courtyard.
At least for a while.
But he couldn't possibly be so fatigued so quickly, right? There's no real reason to have to lean on his sword when it's not actively in use, not when there's still a glow to his eyes and a viciousness to his assault... right?]
Wildcard
[Feel free to hop in to any prompt at any time, or hit me up on plurk or through a good old fashioned PM for some more specific plotting!! Or just toss a completely different prompt my way, I'm open to whatever!]
[It'll probably never stop being at least a little bit strange, to be on good, even close terms with former enemies. But so it goes with guardians of Light, apparently.]
Ah. I see. So you're telling me I should blame Lea for being dragged into all this.
[Is he serious? Is that a joke? It's delivered the same way either way, so who knows?]
[Now that makes him falter and nearly drop the dish, but he quickly tightens his grip on it and gawks.
He's not going deaf, is he? Did he just hear Saïx of all people just apologize to him? Demyx stares for a long minute and wordlessly takes the sauce, before he cocks his head and squints.]
[ Eraqus was one of the many people who was waiting in line to try the food they were offering. However, he can't help but pause when Isa approaches him, pointing to himself before speaking. ]
That's kind of you. But, are you certain? You must have waited a long time to receive your share.
[He'll... probably be okay? He hopes so, at least, and hopes that the reprieve - for as long as it lasts - will be enough time for him to recover.
For now, though, he has a panicking companion to try and calm down, so with a heavy sigh, he places his hand over the other's on his shoulder and nods.]
I'm sure. What you're doing is helping a lot.
[You know. Assuming it is him creating the barrier, which Isa has no reason to doubt.]
[The worst part of it is - he's not entirely wrong, technically, but he's not right either. The burden of having a heart is a lot to bear, but it's not a burden that he minds, most of the time. It aches, and hurts, but he would much rather shoulder it than plunge back into the darkness.
But also - having a heart or not has no bearing on the struggle he's going through right now, with the vines and the sap and facing down Xemnas alone.]
I always thought you were smarter than that, Xemnas.
[The disparaging commentary is a paper-thin shield more than anything else, but it's better for his pride than asking for help, and explaining the merits of having - or not having - a heart was not his place. Not when he'd only so recently regained his and hadn't quite figured out how to handle it, yet.]
This has nothing to do with my heart and you know it.
[By the sharp curl to the corners of Xemnas' mouth he absolutely knows what Isa is saying, with that comment. Or rather, what he isn't saying, and even just knowing that Isa is in a place where he might have asked for help, were it not for that selfsame pride is enough to have him very nearly amused.]
Indeed I do.
[New though this world is, he hasn't forgotten what he knows of the heart. Of the results of his carefully won research, and the swift fall that had resulted. But much like Isa's own comment, it's an easy shield. A way to approach a conversation while still offering a way to pretend that the topic of conversation is anything other than what it is - he might not precisely care one way or the other, but others do and he's never been above using any tactic available to him to sway people's hearts.]
You always were fond of that pride.
[Not that. Xemnas is so much as lifting an arm in assistance, yet. But the idea hovers there, all the same.]
[He is a shitpost. Unfortunately, he's a shitpost that Isa may or may not be kind of somewhat a little bit fond of. Maybe. In no small part because they spent so much time together and because he is now in Possession Of A Heart, which makes pesky feelings like that happen. Gross.
That said? He still doesn't want to be stuck in this little box with him for any longer than necessary. Across a room was one thing. This is a whole different mess.
And the next set? Really drives home how little they all knew about each other. Frustrating. And more mostly blind guesses to get them out of the way and make way for even stranger ones. How long is this pop quiz? Can't they just. Go?
...Probably not. Just like ignoring Xigbar's commentary outright probably won't work.]
[After the debacle of the first month here, it feels... more than a little strange to be encouraged to plant, but in some ways, Isa can understand. It's not like all the plantlife in the city had overgrown and become the vines from hell, and this particular tradition was a lot more palatable than the tentacle festival.
(Playing 20 questions hadn't been the best of experiences, honestly.)
The Meas seeds themselves seem more superstitious than not - which is fine, if the locals want to believe in that, but Isa will go about planting them with the same diligence as any others that were given to him. That is - by himself, unless someone else comes to him with the desire to partake in the little ritual of sorts but are lacking a partner for the wish-granting aspects of it. He might still be getting used to having a heart again, but there's no harm in the attempt, so... why not?
Afterwards, though, he will be headed back home with one of the blue glowing bonsai in hand and a smudge of dirt on his face. And is that a bit of a self-satisfied expression? Probably. It is pretty nice to do something useful with his hands again after all.]

["Oh, you simply must participate!"
Honestly - it doesn't take too much encouragement to get Isa to agree to take part in the tournament. It's unclear whether the enthusiasm for his participation has anything to do with his lunar-derived fighting style or if it's purely his stature, but regardless... he allows himself to be signed up, and spends his time between matches watching the others from the sidelines while tending to any injuries he's sustained in his own matches.
In the ring itself, he meets his opponents with the enthusiasm expected of him, if only because this is a prime opportunity to keep his skills sharp and maybe even find a sparring partner in the mess of it all... though he certainly won't be having any conversations until after matches have concluded, considering the laser-focus he keeps on the fight itself.]

[Typically, Isa wasn't one to take such dire warnings lightly - and this time was no different. He'd kept the bracelet on as advised, but at some point along the way it just. Went missing, whether that was from some mischevious prismal child slipping it off his wrist or whether it got broken during the tournament, the fact remained that as the moons all rise and align, it's gone.
The anxiety strikes first, prompts him to find somewhere to be alone - a darkened alley suffices - where he has to wonder, due to the shortness of breath and the panic filtering in around the edges, if he's dying. As that anxiety fades, though, it shifts to something else - the fact he's alone. He doesn't know where anyone he knows is, and that's very much not acceptable. They're his people, after all, and need to be found and kept close.
The physical changes go largely unnoticed as he sets out. The sharp, wolflike ears and large, fluffy tail from the sanguis cycle have returned, both perked and alert. In addition to those, though, matching blue fur has appeared over his chest and shoulders, tapering down his back towards his tail. Nails have turned to claws, and teeth have sharpened to fangs.
Unrelated to the moonblessings, but only adding to the more feral light he's cast in, his scars have become elongated and jagged, and there is an intense glow to his eyes that those who know him would surely recognize.
Those who he doesn't know? Right now, are only in the way, an obstacle that he's more than willing to fight at the slightest provocation.]
[ What a coincidence Isa, guess who else has blue hair and is walking home from planting trees with a bonsai tree in her hands. In fact, the only difference is that her's is purple instead of blue.
Yep, it's Aqua, and she stops when she realizes who she's looking at.]
Isa. I didn't realize you were helping out with the gardening too.
[ Not that they really talked much, so it's not really surprising that they hadn't known what the other was doing, but still. Keeping in touch with everyone was probably something she should be taking more time to do.]
[Fancy meeting you here, fellow blue-haired morosexual castmate. He stops when she speaks to him, too, and actually breathes a bit of a sigh.
It's difficult to reach out, especially with people whose first experience with him was on the other end of a sword (key-shaped or otherwise), so the utterly normal conversation starter is actually something like a relief.
He's probably being ridiculous, but getting used to emotions again is difficult.]
Oh, Aqua. If I'd known you were there as well...
[Well, he probably wouldn't have said anything, but he might have edged close enough that they could help each other out. And that's something... right?]
It's nice to have plants that aren't trying to kill us this time.
( The small, silver bracelet hangs around her wrist as she makes her way through the crowd of people. While it seems to have drastically reduced the effects of the curse, as Namine has come to think of it, it doesn't keep them suppressed completely. So a pair of white fox ears and matching tail seem to have sprouted on the blonde, though it seems like those are the only changes she's undergone so far. Little does she know, she's also putting off a fairly attractive trail of pheromones in her wake.
She stops once she catches sight of the vaguely familiar figure there, looking much more wild than she's used to seeing him. In fact, it takes her a moment to consider if the person she's looking at is, in fact, Isa. The glow to his eyes tells her that it is. Her brows furrow in worry as she turns and makes her way over to him, stopping once she's in front of him. )
Isa...? Are you okay?
( His bracelet is missing. Would giving him her own do any good at this point? She considers this as she looks up at him. )
[Namine's presence is unexpected, but as she approaches, it's certainly not unwelcome. As she speaks, his attention shifts fully to her, and he very quickly sweeps her hands into his, holding tight but careful to not harm.
His tail swishes idly behind him, and the glow does fade somewhat from his eyes now that he's found someone - found her, though the pheromones she's letting off almost certainly have something to do with that.]
I'm fine.
[Then he makes a very obvious show of looking her over, and also staring down someone who watches that until they skitter away at a baring of teeth.]
[Isa wasn't the only one who was going through a few changes, though whether or not that's a good thing is a mystery for the ages.
He'd given up trying to walk on his own - he'd dumped himself into too many places with the corridors and wasted too much energy doing that, leaving Demyx to resort to using a... very half-assed water "clone" to support himself, if it could even be called that. Really, it's more of a blob with vaguely arm-shaped limbs, and given how Demyx presently looks it's a sorry sight. He even ditched the coat after calling one of the Dusks to bring it home, simply because it was becoming too much of a pain in the neck.
When he spots Isa, Demyx comes to a jerky, wobbly stop and he squints down the street. And then his ears go back and the fur on his tail and shoulders fluff up. That's... Isa, right? It's totally him - there's no mistaking that scar or that shade of blue for anyone else.
Scary.]
...Saix? H-Hey, uh... Everything okay?
[One of these days he'll get his name straight, but here's hoping his voice is at least recognizable.]
[In general? Probably a good thing. Good for Demyx, though?
Dubious.
That name is met with an annoyed flick of an ear as he hears it, and his attention is brought fully onto this cat. He looks... familiar, but not, and it's his voice and the halfassed water clone that really tips Isa off as to who it is.]
Demyx?
[A Familiar Person. So the distance between them is closed quickly as he gives the other a once-over and promptly claws through the water clone. Whether it dissipates from that or is shoved away or stays put, it's ignored from then on as it doesn't matter since the closeness between them means he can tug Demyx against him.]
Everything's fine.
[Well. For the most part. Protective-possessive impulses calm ever so slightly once he's actually in contact with Demyx, and he can take notice of the oddly sweet smell about him, and where pride and self-control might usually make him ask about that, instead, he presses his face to the crook of his neck.
[ven's heart was racing faster than he would ever thought was possible.
his own changes had become more dramatic. the dark blonde fur that made up his floppy rabbit ears and puff of a tail had spread further over his body, leaving a soft happy trail that went up his abdomen and between his breasts. his feet had changed into paws that made wearing shoes absolutely uncomfortable and impossible and along with the skin searing heat he was in he'd had forgone both his shoes and t-shirt somewhere outside.
he just wanted to get home, get somewhere safe before his heart gave out from how hard it was pumping, but he'd gotten lost already. of course that was his luck. turning down an alleyway hesitantly, ven's ears perked up as he spotted a shadowed figure nearby. as a breeze rolled by he picked up a familiar scent.]
[That voice draws the attention of the shadowed figure, and glowing eyes fix on the other. There's a familiarity in him, and one that makes Isa approach quickly, though as he gets closer, there's an urgency about it.
It's Ven, he can tell, but there's also a scent about him that has Isa pinning him to the wall of the alley instead of checking to see if he's alright.]
What are you doing here, Ven?
[Where just anyone could have found him like this, with that enticing scent about him.]
[That's. Actually a pretty good idea. Sure, he was himself again in no small part because of Sora, but, well.
They'd never really been on good terms, so there had been no reason for him to reach out without prompting. But Sora reaching out was... very Sora. So it was hard to mind, and he pauses mid-stride to wait for him to catch up.]
[While Xemnas has been aware of the warnings - and indeed had also received a bracelet besides - by the time the moons rise he's all but forgotten it. Quite literally, in fact: he'd put it on without the intent of taking it off and had proceeded to not pay the least bit of attention to it. So much so that he wouldn't have even able to say where it had gone missing, for all that it clearly has. The black-and-white scales running down his shoulders and forehead and the pair of fuzzy silver ears atop his head are more than enough to speak to that, to say nothing of the fact that he has a tail instead of a pair of legs.
He pauses, when he spots Isa. Rage or no, Isa is his, and merely having found him soothes something in Xemnas that he hadn't known had needed it, tail settling back to the ground as he lets go of the magic that had kept him hovering.]
Saïx.
[Xemnas knows that's not his name, now. That Isa has given it up with the return of his heart. He can't care. Not right now, when he's just glad to have found one of the people who are his, regardless of what they should happen to be calling themselves.]
[Daihannya has been finding himself rather distracted from his work for a very simple reason. There is a remarkably attractive man nearby. He has this slightest smudge of dirt on his face and this focus in doing the work which just holds his attention. He can't help but to keep watching him, a smile on his lips as he does.
Of course, after a time he simply has to say something.]
I wasn't aware that they would find someone so handsome to work this job like this. Though I have to say I'm pleased that they did. The view is wonderful.
